Research
There is much research that backs up and supports the intent behind Book in a Box and we know more schools are using evidence and research to back up their intent. We have gathered some of the most relevant and helpful research below.
EGMONT Reading for pleasure 2002 findings
Clark and Rumbold, 2006 - There is a growing body of evidence which illustrates the importance of reading for pleasure.
Clark and Douglass, 2011 - Evidence suggests that there is a positive relationship between reading frequency, reading enjoyment and attainment. If children cannot read for betterment, they will struggle to access the curriculum.
Scottish Book Trust - Touchstone research has proven the phenomenal statistic that whether or not a child enjoys reading is more important to their educational success than their family background. Reading for pleasure is the single most important indicator of a child's future success.
